- Let me tell you the manly deeds of Indra, which he first accompl
ished, bolt-weaponed. He slew the serpent, opened up waters, cle
ft in twain the belly of mountains. He slew the serpent on the m
ountain, with heavenly bolt made by Tvastar. Like lowing cattle
downward sped the waters, then flowed to the ocean. -Rigveda, 1.

I was looking to collaborate with Filth and he had this rad elephant sketch he had done. I'm always looking for mythology and had read about the elephant, Airvata, that carries Indra. Airvata is the elephant of the cloud. Filth did a great job tossing extra tusks in (which Airvata has 4) and Indra. I did some research on classic statues of Indra looking for headgear and came up with this. The flower at the bottom was to just finish the piece and when I see it I wish I had done a lot more flowers with clouds since Airvata is the one who knits or binds the clouds.
